As we move further into 2025, following up on our previous efforts to gather information about what additional support services you as frequenters of the centre and our Foodshare service would like to see, we are pleased to announce a couple of new additions to the current schedule.
If you are unaware of what is already running, you can read up in our previous post Advocacy Services @ Castleland if you need further details, but we’ve collated them into a table for your convenience (which we have also added to the Foodshare page).

Responses were varied when we put out our support survey at the end of last year, but it did give us some insight and allow us to foster a few additional connections.
Our first new addition is Hafod Housing running monthly drop ins alongside Foodshare which cover a wide range of issues such as money management, maintenance issues and the community safety team with no appointment needed.

Hafod is a mission-led, values-based not-for-profit organisation focused on making lives better by building communities and making connections.
We deliver high-quality affordable homes and support for people to maintain their independence and well-being for as long as possible. We also provide care to people in their own homes, in supported housing or in our residential care and nursing homes.
Next we have Recovery Cymru who provide support for those recovering from or being affected by alcohol/drug use.
They will be running two groups each thursday:
Family and Friends Group – 11:30 – 13:00
Supporting someone through alcohol and other drug use can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone
Peer Support Group – 13:15 – 14:45
A peer-led space with not set agenda. This is a chance to check in, chat about our recovery, and support each other without pressure or hierarchy. No need to book, just come along

Recovery Cymru is a peer-led recovery community supporting individuals in or seeking recovery from alcohol and drug use. Based in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, we foster connection, hope, and empowerment.
Our community thrives on mutual support, shared experiences, and a belief that recovery is possible and enjoyable.
We hope these additional services are useful to our attendees and the local community as a whole, and as always if you have a suggestion for another support service you think would be beneficial (whether it is a regular thing or a one-off) just let us know using the green button below.
