We were delighted to welcome Vale of Glamorgan’s new MP, Kanishka Narayan, to our centre last week. During his visit, our Manager Helen guided Mr. Narayan through the facility, showcasing our Warm Space and Foodshare initiatives.
The tour provided an opportunity to introduce the MP to local support organisations and our dedicated volunteers. Our team engaged in meaningful discussions about the project’s challenges, including:
- Fluctuations in stock availability
- Rising utility costs
- The impact of these issues on service users who rely on our support during financial hardships
Mr. Narayan expressed admiration for our centre’s work, particularly commending our efforts to enhance Foodshare support through partnerships with local advocacy groups.
Looking ahead, we explored the possibility of establishing regular surgeries at the centre to address local concerns directly. We’re optimistic about implementing this service in the near future, further strengthening our community engagement.
