As some of you might already know, Eileen Moore our Chairperson and acting manager decided to retire at the end of 2016 and move back to her home city of Liverpool. Eileen was always the driving force with our community development projects and was instrumental in us becoming renovators and caretakers of our wonderful facility here at Castleland Community Centre. It’s safe to say that without Eileen, we wouldn’t be here now, together, and we will miss her cheery presence and wealth of expertise around the office.
With that said, thanks to the very generous Waterloo Foundation we have been able to appoint a new Centre Manager to help fill the gap that Eileen has left.
Helen Jones will now be responsible for the management of staff and volunteers, as well as raising funds to enable DIC to continue to support both Castleland Community Centre and community projects.
In the past Helen has worked in both the public and private sector and has travelled internationally with her jobs, working with people from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
Helen is settling in nicely and getting along well with existing staff and volunteers. She is eager to get stuck in and develop our existing business and increase awareness of the centre.
We welcome Helen here at DIC and CCA and hope she continues to enjoy working with us all.
