We have nearly half of all the money (raised), for good causes, and what do we spend it on? Our role is to spend it on ways which will help Children and Young people, things that will help older people, things that will help the most disadvantaged people and communities in Wales and also the Environment…… …People and Places is all about this kind of thing.After the speeches, Sir Adrian cut the ribbon and expressed his delight in the achievements of the Castleland Community Association and Drop in Centre team, all of whom are volunteers. Invited guests also included newly re-elected local ward councillors Chris Elmore and Pamela Drake and leader of the new Vale of Glamorgan Council Neil Moore. After the official bits were done, the Centre opened its doors to the public for a free buffet lunch (provided by Councillors Chris Elmore and Pam Drake) and entertainment provided free of charge by local children entertainment company Jungle Jacks. People were also allowed to freely roam the new centre to see it’s successful transformation. The weather was also very inviting and by the end of the day there were lots of happy faces. Castleland Executive Group were pleased to welcome Sir Adrian Webb – new chair of Big Lottery Fund in Wales as our keynote speaker at the re-opening event of Castleland Community Centre.
