About Castleland Community Centre

What is Castleland?

Castleland Community Centre is a newly refurbished, modernised Hub situated in the heart of Barry Town Centre. Unlike other Community Centres, Castleland is a manned building, with helpful staff who can work with you to provide a tailored service for your venue hire needs.

The Centre is managed by two charitable organisations Castleland Community Association & Drop In Centre Development Trust.

Why Castleland Community Centre?

When most people think of Community Centres they usually think of an empty, one hall building with minimal facilities, which our centre was originally. However, in 2009, we received funding from both the Big Lottery and Welsh Government to refurbish the building and outfit the centre with facilities unavavailable at most other Barry Venues.

Our goal is to create a Community Centre that really does have a sense of community with anyone from large professional organisations to smaller clubs and groups welcome to use the facilities and equipment available. We also supply support services such as an on-site cafe and on site storage, to make service delivery easier for group runners.

We currently employ an IT Manager and recently received additional grant funding from The Waterloo Foundation to employ a full-time manager. The rest of our staff are highly dedicated volunteers who help run the centre and deliver the quality service our groups have come to rely on and are essential to us keeping the centre running.

All of Castleland’s income goes into development and maintenance of the building and it’s facilities.
