Whitsun half term provided a fun filled week of treats for the children of Friday club beginning with: planting poppies in Belvedere park in honour of the Centenary Anniversary of World War One. Luckily the weather was good to us and it stayed dry. The children had a great time digging, planting and watering the seeds while getting very muddy! We look forward to seeing the results. On Thursday we had a Lunchtime Movie Matinee (Frozen). It’s one of the latest children’s movies to be released. The children enjoyed a burger and a drink before the movie, during the movie they were munching popcorn. Children of all ages were singing along to “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman” and “Let it Go” filling the community centre with happy sounds. Half way through the movie at interval time we served ice cream and drinks just like the cinema. The day was a great success and everyone really enjoyed themselves. On the Friday we put on a end of half term Disco. Children enjoyed dancing together with fun filled games. Many children went home happy and with prizes. Overall the half term activities were very successful, providing entertainment for 60+ children.
