Last Friday we  held Friday Club’s very own Olympics ceremony in Castleland Community Centre. It opened with each person getting a chance to do a lap of the grounds holding the very convincing Olympic torch. Once the ceremony was complete, it was time to start the games which consisted of a timed obstacle race, skipping rope jumps, hula hoop counts and keepy uppies using a bat and a small bean bag. Competitors fought long and hard to be the best of the Friday Club team, but in the end only the top 3 would get Olympic medals. Bronze, Silver and Gold, with the first place athlete also winning a free Jungle Jacks voucher for the local play centre, plus a free drink. It was a gruelling day, but now training begins for the next games in 4 years time.
