Our very own CafeCamelot hosted its first of a (hopefully) many Christmas dinner events for pensioners in December. Staff in the Centre worked hard to provide an optional 2 Course meal with all the trimmings and a choice of desserts for all attendees. Entertainment was generously provided by the always energetic Tenovus Choir (led by Jo Fowler), and Nite Out Scheme’s “Sing along with Christmas”. This was also a momentous occasion for Castleland Community Centre as it received a free defibrillator and additional staff training, from the Barry Healthy Heart group – presented by CEO Sharon Owen, Chairman Colin Davies and Welsh Ambulance Service – First Responder Bryan Foley. Colin was pleased to announce that this was the first time anyone had received such an honour, and we here at DIC and CCA are extremely grateful to be the receivers of such a wonderful gift. Jane Hutt AM, and Councillors Chris Elmore and Pam Drake all attended the event to show support to the local centre. With the audience singing along and some even getting up for a dance we think a good time was had by all.
