For the time being, our public garden will remain closed whilst we assess the damage from recent vandalism.
We have contacted the police and our insurers to see where we go from here and would appreciate it if anyone has any information as to who might have committed the damage. Please get in touch here
This is the first major incident we’ve had in a long time, but it’s disappointing that people who now want to use it won’t be able to. We will update you when the garden becomes available for public use again.
Unfortunately the garden is quite expensive to maintain and generates no income for the centre so when something like this happens it affects all of the things we can do for the local community as it eats into our budget to perform repairs, and since we get no external funding or financial help from the council as a private charity, we have to rely on volunteers to assist us.
With that in mind we are always looking for helping hands in the garden, whether they are existing groups, organisations or just individuals who love gardening.
No experience necessary, a great opportunity for all abilities who love to be outdoors and can spare an hour or two, helping this garden to flourish, we’d really appreciate the help!
